Bag: a zine is a letterpress printed literary journal made of reused grocery bags. The first issue's theme is "Grocery Stor(i)es" and will include micro stories (nonfiction and fiction) that are related to grocery stores. Work at a grocery store? Have an ode to your favorite one? Went on a quest to buy tomatillos? Did an erasure poem with produce catalogs? I want to hear about it!
I'm accepting submissions in the form of prose and poetry with 600 words or less. Simultaneous submissions, multiple submissions, and reprints with permissions are all accepted, but I ask that you only submit your own work.
Submissions close September 2nd, so submit soon!

Geese Goose is themed on play, collaboration, joyful miscommunication, and (as always) interactive art. Our venue this time is East Manning Projects. The receptions will have light snacks, refreshments, places to sit, one or more live performances, some artwork for sale, opportunities to talk to the artists, and encouragement to touch many of the works.

Class: Beginner Book Structures
Have you been wanting to bind your own books but don’t know where to start? Are you an aspiring zine maker? Maybe you want to tell a story or store your memorabilia meaningfully? Look no further! In this beginner class, you will learn how to make three fundamental book structures: one-page zines, the pamphlet stitch, and accordion books. These foundational structures can be applied to many projects and adapted into more advanced forms later in your book making journey. We will be using recycled and gleaned materials and welcome you to put your own creative spin on your practice books. You will leave with three of your very own handmade books and the knowledge to make more!
