Welcome to the first independent show hosted by art book collective, pvd! All the works in this show were created and installed by us: Hannah Bashkow, Jaden Bleier, Areez Khan, Ivana Primera, and Iris Wright, individually and in collaboration.

Each of us is in a transitional period, as artists and people. We are
unfinished, still with shallow roots, testing the waters of what values to keep, practices to hone, and communities to embrace. In loose threads, we are taking stock of the world around us and tracing the lines of who we want to become. In doing so, we have reconfigured old works, revisited memories, responded to external forces, collaborated, collaged, scrapbooked, and repurposed fragments that have traveled with us through life. We are looking inward, inviting others along, and finding what we want to bring with us to the future.

Our studios are within our apartments, and this art show is hosted in a home; our domestic spaces give us the freedom to express our full identities, unpack our old selves, expand our definitions of art, and make meaning on our own terms.

Like much domestic labor, our art would go unseen without drawing attention to it - so we invite you in, to make yourself at home in our space, and to get to know us through these works.

At the opening of this show, somewhere between 70 and 100 people showed up to share a meal prepared by Hannah Bashkow, of which she distributed a risograph recipe book in an edition of 50.
