It plays on homonyms like "egg," meaning both a zygote and a slang term for someone who has yet to realize their own queer gender. The writing contemplates the 2024-5 egg shortage in the U.S., raw egg cuisine, a transgender chicken, and exploring one's gender while living under a government seeking to enforce strict and binary gender definitions. The zine's folding form is based on a letterlocking technique, because these ideas are meant to be passed around.
