Book Body No.3: Sutures is suede, lasercut leather, sewn together and etched on the inside of the garment with quotes from Susan Stryker’s My Words to Victor Frankenstein Above the Village of Chamounix: Performing Transgender Rage. The leather pieces are arranged so Stryker’s sentences are no longer linearly readable. One quotation: “the Nature you bedevil me with is a lie […] for it is a fabrication that cloaks the groundlessness of the privilege you seek to maintain for yourself at my expense” is interrupted on the garment with Stryker’s words, “You are as constructed as me.”
