2024
machine embroidery, muslin, thread, found frames
The idea for these embroideries began in my sketchbook while I was trying to write poems. My hand would begin to write a letter and slip into an indecipherable shape. I would fill the page with shapes that were almost letters. I came to embroidery as an avenue into tactility, and I worked on these compositions by manipulating my machine embroidery software into making shapes it was not designed to make.

This piece was sold at the exhibition Geese Goose in Providence, RI in April 2024. Please email iris.write.artist<>gmail.com to inquire about similar work available for purchase.
